The guides were so kind and knowledgeable, the food was delicious. It was such a fun experience - the perfect way to ease into the city!

Day 2: Vatican City Extravaganza

Any trip to Rome would be incomplete without a visit to the Vatican City, a sovereign enclave brimming with artistic and religious treasures.

Vatican Museums: Begin your day with a visit to the Vatican Museums, home to an awe-inspiring collection of art and artifacts. Marvel at masterpieces by Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo da Vinci as you traverse the museum's grand corridors and intricate galleries.

Tip: Vatican Museums can become very crowded. Go early in the morning to avoid crowds. For an even more exclusive (but not too expensive) experience, enjoy breakfast at the Vatican.

St. Peter's Basilica: Next, explore the magnificent St. Peter's Basilica, an architectural marvel adorned with exquisite sculptures and frescoes. Climb the dome for panoramic views of the city, a breathtaking reward for your ascent.

Castle Sant'Angelo: Conclude your day by exploring the historic Castle Sant'Angelo. Originally built as a mausoleum, it later transformed into a papal fortress. The castle offers a glimpse into Rome's military past and provides another vantage point to admire the cityscape.

Day 3: Iconic Landmarks and Ancient Ruins

Finally, you can't visit Rome without visiting the city's most iconic landmarks and ancient ruins.

A couple posts in front of the Colosseum

Colosseum: Begin at the iconic Colosseum, an awe-inspiring testament to ancient Roman engineering. Imagine the gladiatorial contests and theatrical spectacles that once unfolded within its walls as you stand in its towering presence. You can even peak into the lower level where gladiators would have prepared for competition.

Roman Forum: Continue your journey through history with a visit to the Roman Forum, the heart of ancient Rome. Wander amidst the ruins of temples, arches, and civic buildings, and transport yourself back to a time of emperors and senators.

The Pantheon lit up in the evening

Pantheon: Venture onward to the Pantheon, a marvel of ancient architecture. Its majestic dome and oculus create a play of light that evokes a sense of wonder and reverence.

Tip: Be sure to purchase an audio tour!

Trevi Fountain: Conclude your day at the enchanting Trevi Fountain. Toss a coin into its waters to ensure your return to Rome and relish the opportunity to make a wish in this iconic setting.

From savoring local flavors on a food tour to delving into the history of Vatican City and immersing yourself in the grandeur of ancient ruins, this carefully crafted itinerary ensures that you experience the very essence of Rome. Each day brings new discoveries and moments of awe, leaving you with a profound appreciation for the city's beauty, heritage, and timeless allure.
